Basketball Recap: Schuyler Comes Up Short

Schuyler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a 59-30 loss at the hands of the Aurora Huskies. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-18 back in January.

Kenna Merrihew had a dynamite game for Aurora, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds. Merrihew is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games she's played. Kaitlyn Staehr was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven rebounds.

Schuyler's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Aurora, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Schuyler will head out to take on Crete at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Aurora, they will head out on the road to challenge Grand Island Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
