Basketball Recap: Elkhorn South Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

Millard West came into Tuesday's game looking for another win against Elkhorn South, but Lincoln Schwarz wouldn't allow it. The Elkhorn South Storm snuck past the Millard West Wildcats with a 74-68 victory on Tuesday thanks in part to Schwarz, who went 6 of 8 en route to 19 points and seven assists. Those seven assists gave him a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Davis Eickman, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 16 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Despite the loss, Millard West still got an impressive performance from Reece Carson, who almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine boards. The matchup was Carson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cade Walker, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Elkhorn South has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-10 record this season. As for Millard West, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Elkhorn South will head out on the road to challenge Buena Vista at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Elkhorn South knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Buena Vista likes a good challenge. As for Millard West, they will be playing at home against Bellevue West at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Bellevue West's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
