Softball Recap: Mission Hills Wins Going Away Against El Capitan

Mission Hills had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt El Capitan on Saturday. Mission Hills put the hurt on El Capitan with a sharp 10-3 victory. That looming 10-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Grizzlies yet this season.

Oloa Motas made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

Motas wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Leah Llamas, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. That run marked the first that Llamas scored this season.

Mission Hills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
