Volleyball Game Preview: Elizabeth Bulldogs vs. Marquez Gladiators

The Elizabeth Bulldogs will face off against the Marquez Gladiators at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for Elizabeth: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Marquez has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row dating back to last season, Elizabeth turned things around against Maywood Academy on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Nighthawks.

Elizabeth had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Marquez made easy work of Sotomayor on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Gladiators in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won three in a row.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-15, 25-16.

Marquez's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Elizabeth, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
