Football Recap: San Marcos Piles Up the Points Against Buena

While San Marcos put up plenty of points on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Buena. The Royals simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bulldogs 47-0. Considering the Royals have won ten matches by more than 19 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

San Marcos didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Rio Chesluk led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. Marilyn Monroy got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

San Marcos is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.4 points on average over those games. As for Buena, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

San Marcos has already played their next game, a 15-14 loss against Dos Pueblos on the 4th. As for Buena, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 41-0 defeat against Ventura on the 4th.
