The Independence Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the Wasco Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Independence's defense has only allowed 14.8 points per game this season, so Wasco's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Independence is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Porterville 44-21. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Gunter Golla Iii and Jakhai Ervin were among the main playmakers for Independence as the former rushed for 87 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries and the latter picked up 137 receiving yards and two scores. What's more, Golla Iii posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Independence was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 350 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Another reason for the win was Independence's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, Jayden Gutierrez was the leader with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Wasco challenged Kerman on Friday. The Tigers won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Lions 28-27. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Independence's record is now 8-4. As for Wasco, their record now sits at 10-2.
