Football Recap: Praise Academy Comes Up Short

If Praise Academy was feeling good fresh off their 30-6 takedown of Peoples Baptist Academy two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions were beaten by the Fideles Christian Rangers 62-12 on Friday. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Rangers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the loss, Praise Academy still got an impressive performance from Hunter Ivey, who threw for 216 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 34 yards. Ivey's passing game has become a key predictor of the Lions' success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 0-4 otherwise. A healthy portion of Ivey's aerial production (94 yards to be exact) went to Caleb Daetwyler, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Praise Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Fideles Christian, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 2-5.

Praise Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 52-36 win against Hearts Academy on the 17th. As for Fideles Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 35-10 defeat against Pinecrest Academy on the 17th.
