Softball Recap: Sale Creek Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Sale Creek faced off against Meigs County on Wednesday. The Panthers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 16-15. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Jalyn Hammons made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Payne, who went 4-for-5 with three runs and one double.

Sale Creek's loss dropped their record down to 7-10-1. As for Meigs County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-10.

Looking ahead, Sale Creek is taking a road trip to take on Signal Mountain at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meigs County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
