With a playoff win on the line, Mason rose to the challenge on Monday. They blew past the Middletown Middies 17-1. The Comets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Mason has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Middletown, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Looking ahead, Mason will face off against Springboro at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Comets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. Middletown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
