Volleyball Game Preview: The Colorado Springs School Kodiaks vs. St. Mary's Pirates

The Colorado Springs School hasn't had much luck against St. Mary recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Kodiaks will head out to square off against the Pirates at 9:00 a.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Thursday, The Colorado Springs School didn't have quite enough to beat Elbert and fell 3-2.

The Colorado Springs School started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 18-25, 25-16, 25-15, 15-11.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's lost 3-0 to The Vanguard School on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Coursers: they've now lost four in a row.

While St. Mary's was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-12, 26-24, 25-20.

The Colorado Springs School suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 12-6. As for St. Mary's, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

The Colorado Springs School suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to St. Mary's when the teams last played back in October of 2023. Can the Kodiaks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
