Softball Recap: Garland Victorious

Garland owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Richardson Eagles 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Owls have posted since February 16, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Sinijay Maxey, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Mady Key also deserves some recognition as she stolen her first stolen base of the season.

Garland hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.

Garland's win bumped their record up to 3-1-1. As for Richardson, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.
