Basketball Recap: Mount Airy Comes Up Short on the Road Against Leadership Academy

Mount Airy had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They received a blow as they fell 65-49 to the Leadership Academy Falcons.

Leadership Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caden Ryker led the charge by dropping a double-double with 24 points and 11 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ryker has scored at least a third of the Falcons' points. Graham Hronich was another key player, shooting 71% from the field on his way to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

The win keeps Leadership Academy at an undefeated 5-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Airy will face off against Elkin at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Leadership Academy, they will challenge College Prep & Leadership Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons are facing the Royals at the right time seeing as the Royals are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
