Softball Preview: Marshall Lions vs. Mt. Carmel Golden Aces

The Marshall Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Mt. Carmel Golden Aces at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Marshall is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

On Saturday, Marshall came up short against St. Joseph-Ogden and fell 8-5. Marshall has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mt. Carmel let Evie Sellers and Leah Lewis loose on the outfield. Sellers went 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Lewis went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. Bella Andrews was another key contributor, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and a double.

Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Mt. Carmel, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season.
