Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jack Vahey and Dan Babber Lead Northwest Christian to Victory

There's no place like home for Northwest Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the Rainier Christian Mustangs 55-30 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Wolverines have posted since December 13, 2023.

Leading Northwest Christian to victory were Dan Babber and Jack Vahey. Babber went 9 of 20 en route to 23 points along with eight assists and five steals, while Vahey went 8 for 15 on his way to 17 points and five steals. Those eight assists gave Babber a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Meier, who posted seven points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Northwest Christian picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Rainier Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Northwest Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 45-40 loss against North Beach on the 13th. As for Rainier Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-62 victory against Summit Atlas on the 13th.
