Basketball Game Preview: Reardan Screaming Eagles vs. Davenport Gorillas

Reardan is 2-8 against Davenport since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Reardan Screaming Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Davenport Gorillas at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Reardan comes in on three and Davenport on seven.

On Saturday, Reardan strolled past St. George's with points to spare, taking the game 54-35. Given the Screaming Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Dragons are ranked 197th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Davenport blew past St. George's, posting a 56-25 win. The Gorillas have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 20 points or more this season.

Reardan pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Davenport, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.

Reardan came out on top in a nail-biter against Davenport in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, sneaking past 43-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Reardan since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
