Softball Recap: Waskom Comes Up Short

Waskom was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Carlisle Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 9-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2022.

Anna Grace Hicks led a balanced group of hitters, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Maci Barbo, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Waskom's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Carlisle, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-23.

While Waskom had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
