Glenvar has gone 8-2 against Floyd County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Highlanders will square off against the Buffaloes at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Glenvar has three straight wins, Floyd County has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Seven must be Glenvar's lucky number: they beat James River with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Highlanders beat the Knights by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-1.

Carroll County hit Floyd County with a four-run fourth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Buffaloes fell just short of the Cavaliers by a score of 5-4.

Zach Turpin put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run.

In other batting news, Adam Petty made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Glenvar's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Floyd County, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

Glenvar was able to grind out a solid win over Floyd County in their previous matchup back in April, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Highlanders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
