Baseball Game Preview: North Marion Colts vs. Forest Wildcats

The North Marion Colts will challenge the Forest Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in North Marion's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.

On Tuesday, North Marion made easy work of Santa Fe and carried off an 11-2 victory. Considering the Colts have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Trenton Ramsey was a major factor no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rowan Quartararo, who went 1-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. John Collins was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Forest fell victim to Buchholz and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Bobcats, falling 9-0. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost six in a row.

Forest saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Schoncheck, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

North Marion has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Forest, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-11.
