Basketball Game Preview: Orange Lions vs. Chagrin Falls Tigers

Orange is 0-10 against Chagrin Falls since January of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Orange Lions face off against the Chagrin Falls Tigers at 6:45 p.m.

Orange is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a 70-40 loss at the hands of Villa Angela-St. Joseph. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-16.

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Chagrin Falls, as they earned their first road win of the season. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging an 80-13 victory over Hawken. With the Tigers ahead 51-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Orange better keep an eye on Avery Russell. She was instrumental in Chagrin Falls' win, going 13 of 17 en route to 29 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Russell's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Stukus, who went 7 of 11 en route to 17 points and six steals.

Orange's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Chagrin Falls, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-2.

Orange came up short against Chagrin Falls when the teams last played back in January, falling 58-49. Can Orange avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
