Football Preview: Corvian Community Cardinals vs. Pine Lake Prep Pride        
        
		
             The Corvian Community Cardinals will head out on the road to  face off against  the Pine Lake Prep Pride  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Corvian Community has eight straight  wins, Pine Lake Prep has three straight  losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
 Last Friday, Corvian Community took their  match at home  with ease, bagging  a  47-7 victory over Community School of Davidson. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won seven games by 29  points or more  so far this season.
  Cam Johnson was  his usual excellent self, rushing for 122 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, while also picking up 71 receiving yards and a touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 101  rushing yards dating back to last season.  Noah Best also helped with three touchdowns in total.
 Corvian Community wouldn't let Community School of Davidson keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Corvian Community can thank  Tremaine Smith and  AJ Jackson Jr. for forcing both of them. Corvian Community got some further help from  Donovan Kirkwood: he made 14 total tackles and snagged   an  interception.
 Meanwhile, Pine Lake Prep didn't have quite enough to beat Carver on Friday and fell  28-26.
 Despite their  defeat, Pine Lake Prep saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Cameron Gandy, who threw for 188 yards and three touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all.
 Corvian Community pushed their record up to 8-0 with the  win, which was their fifth straight  at home. As for Pine Lake Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
 Corvian Community won a  contest that couldn't have been any closer  in their previous meeting  back in October of 2023, slipping by Pine Lake Prep 24-23. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Pine Lake Prep's  Gabe Bolivar, who rushed for 231 yards and three touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing  on Friday, will it be easier for Corvian Community to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
