Valley Forge has gone a perfect 3-0 against Lorain recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Patriots will head out to face off against the Titans at 11:00 a.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Valley Forge was handed a 14-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Brush 4-2. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Brandon Beach spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, Valley Forge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Smith, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Kyle Kalinowski also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Lorain hadn't done well against Elyria recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Titans skirted past the Pioneers 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Titans have posted since May 9, 2024.

The win was the third in a row for Lorain, bringing their record up to 3-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Valley Forge, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Everything went Valley Forge's way against Lorain when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Valley Forge made off with a 12-4 victory. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
