            Softball Recap: Rolling Meadows Mustangs vs. Wheeling Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            Rolling Meadows was handed a heart-breaking two-run  loss in their last  game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Wheeling  on Wednesday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp  13-4 victory. Considering the Mustangs have won six contests by more than eight  runs this season, Wednesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Caylee Del Boccio was  incredible,  going 2-for-5 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs. That  home run marked the first that  she has  launched this season.  Chase Hembry was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.

 They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Rolling Meadows  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 17  hits. That's the most  hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Rolling Meadows'  win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 6-12. As for Wheeling, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record  this season.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rolling Meadows will venture away from home to  face off against Hoffman Estates  at 4:45  p.m.  on Thursday. The Mustangs are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on  a  15-game losing streak. As for Wheeling, they will head out to  challenge Barrington  at 4:45  p.m.  on Friday.
