Volleyball Recap: Liberty Charter Takes a Loss

Liberty Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Morse Tigers.

Morse's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jhiovanni Lacosta led the charge by getting 26 assists and two aces. Lacosta is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 16 or more in each of the last six games he's played. Kenji Esguerra was another key player, getting five kills and four blocks.

Liberty Charter's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Morse, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.

Coming up, Liberty Charter will take on Orange Glen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Morse, they will square off against Mar Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
