Basketball Game Preview: Elevation Prep Academy Honey Badgers vs. Victory Christian Center Kings

The Elevation Prep Academy Honey Badgers will challenge the Victory Christian Center Kings at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Elevation Prep Academy turned things around against Quality Education Academy on Monday. They came out on top against the Fighting Pharaohs by a score of 73-63. The win was all the more spectacular given the Honey Badgers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 545th, while the Fighting Pharaohs are ranked 101st).

HARVEY BEDELL was a one-man wrecking crew for Elevation Prep Academy as he posted 18 points along with six boards and three steals. That's the most points BEDELL has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of JAMIR WHITE, who put up 15 points and three steals.

Elevation Prep Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Victory Christian Center came tearing into Monday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They slipped by the Stallions 57-56.

Elevation Prep Academy better keep an eye on Justyn Whitfield. He was instrumental in Victory Christian Center's win, going 6 of 11 on his way to 23 points. Whitfield's evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Petty, who had ten points and four steals.

Victory Christian Center has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.1 points per game. As for Elevation Prep Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.

Elevation Prep Academy was taken down by Victory Christian Center 95-48 in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Elevation Prep Academy was down 54-23.
