Basketball Recap: Concordia Picks Up 17th Straight Win at Home

On Thursday, Concordia faced Lincoln Lutheran in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Concordia Mustangs walked away with a 54-46 victory over the Lincoln Lutheran Warriors. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Lincoln Lutheran still got an impressive performance from Nathan Holle, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds. Those 16 points gave Holle a new career-high. Trenton Ernst was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Concordia pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lincoln Lutheran, they moved to 9-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Concordia will venture away from home to face off against Gross Catholic on Tuesday. Concordia is facing Gross Catholic at the right time seeing as Gross Catholic is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lincoln Lutheran, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-60 victory against Wahoo on the 11th.
