Baseball Recap: New Trier Has No Trouble Against Quartz Hill

New Trier won against Mascoutah last Friday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. New Trier blew past the Quartz Hill Royals 12-3. That nine run margin sets a new team best for the Trevians this season.

Greg Campitelli looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Trey Meyers was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. He also put up a triple, which was his first of the season. Zach Perchik was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

New Trier was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in three consecutive games.

New Trier's record is now 3-0-1. As for Quartz Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
