Baseball Game Preview: Heritage Academy Heroes vs. Phoenix Country Day Eagles

The Heritage Academy Heroes are taking a road trip to take on the Phoenix Country Day Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage Academy has given up an average of 6.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Heritage Academy lost 15-9 to Horizon Honors on Wednesday.

Jared Wittman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul (PJ) Soltero, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Fountain Hills hit Phoenix Country Day with a six-run first inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles came up short against the Falcons, falling 13-3. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Phoenix Country Day saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Rose, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Heritage Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8-1. As for Phoenix Country Day, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Heritage Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Phoenix Country Day struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11.1 strikeouts.
