Basketball Game Preview: San Angelo Central Bobcats vs. Midland Legacy Rebels

The San Angelo Central Bobcats will take on the Midland Legacy Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

It was a proper cat-fight when San Angelo Central challenged Permian on Friday. San Angelo Central was dealt a 76-49 loss at the hands of Permian. The contest marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Midland Legacy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took an 81-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of Frenship on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Tigers are ranked 72nd).

Midland Legacy's defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-9. As for San Angelo Central, they dropped their record down to 20-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

San Angelo Central strolled past Midland Legacy when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 69-53. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Midland Legacy's Jordan Williams, who posted 29 points.
