Volleyball Recap: Mainland Comes Up Short

Mainland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Father Lopez Green Wave. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 26-28, 25-18, 25-10.

Jeslene Gonzalez paced Mainland's offense, picking up five kills. Gonzalez got some help from Emma Starr and her six assists.

Mainland's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Father Lopez, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-2.

Coming up, Mainland will welcome Spruce Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Father Lopez, they will face off against Atlantic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
