Softball Recap: Limestone's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

After low-scoring totals in their previous four game, Limestone brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Morton Potters a 12-0 shutout on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Rockets as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Limestone's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-7. As for Morton, they dropped their record down to 1-11 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Limestone will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Metamora at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rockets 3.8, the Redbirds 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Morton, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 11-0 win against Galesburg on the 18th.
