Basketball Recap: Alcovy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Apalachee last Friday, Alcovy came back down to earth. The Alcovy Tigers fell to the Clarke Central Gladiators 46-42. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Gladiators this season, with their most recent loss being a 52-47 defeat back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Alcovy lost on Tuesday, don't look at Janae Hutcherson. Despite the final result, she went 8 of 18 en route to 18 points and four steals. Hutcherson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 22 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shamariah Gibbs, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 14 boards.

Alcovy's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Clarke Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-13.

As of now, neither Alcovy nor Clarke Central have any future games scheduled.
