Baseball Game Preview: Weld Central Rebels vs. Brush Beetdiggers

The Weld Central Rebels will venture away from home to challenge the Brush Beetdiggers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Weld Central is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Fort Morgan hit Weld Central with a eight-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rebels came up short against the Mustangs, falling 15-4.

Luke Witzel was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Andruw Prince also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Brush had just enough and edged out Lyons 5-3 on Tuesday.

Landon Mesch was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. River Hodgeson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.

Brush's record is now 8-5. As for Weld Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Weld Central couldn't quite get it done against Brush when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
