Volleyball Recap: DMLK Takes a Loss

The DMLK Panthers came up short against the Stargate School Eagles on Monday, falling 3-0. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-6, 25-11.

DMLK's offense was headlined by Christian Garcia and Esquire Coleman, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Romeo Johnny and his five assists. Deion Turner controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Stargate School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Adrian Barda led the charge by getting three aces and one block. Those three aces gave Barda a new career-high.

DMLK's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Stargate School, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

DMLK has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against KIPP Denver Collegiate on the 15th. As for Stargate School, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Arrupe Jesuit on the 15th.
