Baseball Game Preview: Woden Eagles vs. Brookeland Wildcats

The Woden Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Brookeland Wildcats at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Woden is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Woden beat Timpson 7-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Wade Stanaland was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Woden is 9-2 when Stanaland posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Kaesyn, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Brookeland has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging three runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They lost 14-1 to Danbury. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Woden's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Brookeland, their loss dropped their record down to 10-2.
