Shorewood faced Monroe in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Stormrays' defense stepped up to hand the Bearcats a 1-0 shutout. The win was familiar territory for Shorewood, who have now won seven matchups in a row.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Matthew Bereket, who's now up to three this season.

Shorewood's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Monroe, they moved to 16-2 with that defeat, which also ended their 11-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Shorewood nor the Bearcats have any future games scheduled.
