Soccer Game Preview: Mesa vs. Corona del Sol

Mesa is 0-3 against Corona del Sol since January of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Mesa Jackrabbits are taking a road trip to challenge the Corona del Sol Aztecs at 6:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Mesa is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They came up short against Campo Verde, falling 7-0.

Meanwhile, Corona del Sol put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They never let Gilbert onto the board and left with a 1-0 win. The Aztecs' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four games.

Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 0-6-1. As for Corona del Sol, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0-1.

Mesa suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Corona del Sol in their previous meeting back in December of 2017. Can Mesa avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
