Baseball Recap: Stall Starts off Right with Win over North Charleston

Stall had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against the North Charleston Cougars on Friday as the Stall Warriors made off with an 11-0 victory. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Yohan Tolentino and Carter Ashley made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Tolentino tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Ashley kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over 4.2 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (two). At bat, Tolentino went 1-for-3 with three RBI, while Ashley scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Those three RBI gave Tolentino a new career-high.

In other batting news, Stall got a massive performance out of Dominic Stewart, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Yan Tolentino, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

North Charleston's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stall will take on St. John's at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for North Charleston, they will face off against Battery Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
