Athens is a perfect 8-0 against Williamson since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wildcats will welcome the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Athens is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Athens lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Sayre, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. The Wildcats blew past the Redskins 8-1 on Thursday. The eight-run effort marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Kamdyn Wheeler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Wheeler was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eli Hobday, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Williamson fell victim to Troy and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Trojans, falling 11-0. Having soared to a lofty 22 runs in the game before, the Warriors' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Williamson now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Athens, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Williamson's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Athens hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. It's a different story for Williamson, though, as they've only averaged .237. Will they be able to contain Athens' hitters?

Everything went Athens' way against Williamson in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Athens made off with an 11-0 win. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
