There's no place like home for Spaulding, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Merrimack Tomahawks 3-2. For the Red Raiders, this counts as revenge for the 8-4 victory the Tomahawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Aiden Auger tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Colby Lambert was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

Spaulding was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Spaulding's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-3-1. As for Merrimack, they dropped their record down to 0-3-1 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
