The Rolling Meadows Mustangs will take on the Lake Forest Scouts at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rolling Meadows is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Rolling Meadows fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Prospect on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 4-2. The Mustangs just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Rolling Meadows saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mary Linker, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous four matchup, Lake Forest brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They blew past Waukegan 15-2 on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Scouts as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Shader Sophia was a standout: she got on base in both of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Those stolen bases marked the first that she has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Stark Aubrey, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Lake Forest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Rolling Meadows' loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Lake Forest, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-7.

Rolling Meadows took their win against Lake Forest in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 19-4 score. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Scouts turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
