Softball Recap: Francis Parker Has No Trouble Against Lincoln

While Francis Parker put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Lincoln. The Lancers blew past the Hornets 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won four matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Evelyn Luo made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Francis Parker let Payton Zborowski and Ella Kahraman run wild. Zborowski went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs, while Kahraman went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most stolen bases Zborowski has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynn Holst, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Francis Parker and bumps their season record up to 5-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Lincoln, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-9 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Francis Parker will face off against Bishop's at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 11.2 runs per game this season. As for Lincoln, they will square off against La Jolla at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
