Softball Recap: Whitwell Takes a Loss

Whitwell lost against Bledsoe County back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Whitwell Tigers fell just short of the Bledsoe County Warriors by a score of 3-1. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Ella Grace Harvey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Kasie Britton made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. Kiley Billingsley also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Whitwell dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Bledsoe County, they now have a winning record of 3-2-1.

Whitwell will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Baylor at 5:30 p.m. on April 1st. As for Bledsoe County, they will challenge Sequatchie County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sequatchie County will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Bledsoe County surely won't give up without a fight.
