Basketball Recap: Pendleton Heights Arabians vs. Yorktown Tigers

Even though the Yorktown Tigers scored an imposing 57 points on Thursday, the Pendleton Heights Arabians still came out on top. Pendleton Heights took their matchup against the Tigers 64-57. This was payback for Pendleton Heights, who suffered a 55-49 loss the last time these two teams met.

Josiah Gustin was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Seth Laravia was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.

Yorktown's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Nate Tyler, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, and Kieran Tewari who scored 16 points. It was the first time this season that Tyler scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jabin Barnes, who scored seven points.

Pendleton Heights' win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Yorktown, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-8.

Pendleton Heights will head out on the road to take on the Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Muncie Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Yorktown, they will be playing at home against the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
