Baseball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Drury

Drury won the last time they faced McCann Tech and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Blue Devils were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Hornets. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Connor Hinkell made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out 18 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Hinkell wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Julian Faliciano, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Drury's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. As for McCann Tech, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Drury will venture away from home to face off against Pioneer Valley Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for McCann Tech, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lee at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
