Baseball Recap: Lake Howell's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Lake Howell unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Lyman Greyhounds by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Silverhawks have suffered since April 18, 2024.

Isaiah Walkin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Nathaniel Grimm was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Lake Howell's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Lyman, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-10.

Lake Howell will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hagerty at 6:00 p.m. on March 25th. As for Lyman, they and Flagler Palm Coast will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Lyman will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
