Softball Recap: Ayden - Grifton Sets Scoring Season-High Against Greene Central

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ayden - Grifton). They blew past the Greene Central Rams 17-1 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won nine in a row.

Ayden - Grifton got a massive performance out of Aaliyah Williams, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave Williams a new career-high. Jo Nowell was another key player, scoring three runs while going 4-for-5.

Ayden - Grifton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 4-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Ayden - Grifton's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Greene Central, they dropped their record down to 0-13 with the loss, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Ayden - Grifton will square off against North Pitt at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greene Central, they will challenge Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Washington's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Greene Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
