Basketball Recap: Copiah Academy Comes Up Short

Copiah Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Hartfield Academy Hawks and fell 84-47. While losing is never fun, the Colonels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Hawks are ranked 12th).

Copiah Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Hartfield Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Copiah Academy will take on Wayne Academy in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hartfield Academy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Olive Branch at 2:30 p.m. on December 27th.
