Volleyball Recap: St. Augustine Catholic Takes a Loss

St. Augustine Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Tombstone Yellow Jackets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-17, 25-15.

Leading Tombstone to victory were Isabella Lopez and Lilleigh Presti. Lopez had 12 digs and two aces, while Presti had seven aces and six assists. Those seven aces gave Presti a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Gilbert, who had nine digs.

St. Augustine Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Tombstone, they pushed their record up to 12-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

St. Augustine Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Lourdes Catholic on the 29th. Tombstone does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
