Volleyball Recap: Seymour Owls vs. New Albany Bulldogs
Seymour was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of the New Albany Bulldogs by a score of 3-2. The Owls were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
Seymour actually scored more points across those five sets (104-101), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 16-25, 25-17, 25-23, 16-14.
Despite the loss, Seymour still got an impressive performance from Jamie Bobb, who had 16 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Bobb has posted since back in August of 2023.
New Albany can attribute much of their success to Audrey Smith, who had 13 digs.
Seymour's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-11. As for New Albany, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-7 record.
Seymour will be playing in front of their home fans against Brownstown Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brownstown Central is coming into the contest with six straight victories on the road, so Seymour will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for New Albany, they will face off against Guerin Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
