After flying high against Sumter Christian on Monday, Emmanuel Christian came back down to earth. The Crusaders took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northside Christian School Eagles on Tuesday. The Crusaders' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-12, 20-25, 25-11.

Emmanuel Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Megan Butler, who had 16 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Michaela August was another key player, getting 14 digs, two aces, and one block.

Emmanuel Christian's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 12-2-1. As for Northside Christian School, they now have a winning record of 2-1-1.

While Emmanuel Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on October 3.
